KFFK / SHORT FILM FES­TI­VAL COLOGNE

Foun­ded in 2005, the short films in all their facets have found a home in Colo­gne. Every year in Novem­ber cur­rent trends of the medi­um are high­ligh­ted – docu­men­ta­ry, fic­tion­al, ani­ma­ted and ever­y­thing in bet­ween, in regio­nal, natio­nal and inter­na­tio­nal pro­grams. The­re are no limits to the gen­res. On the contrary.

Sin­ce 2012 the New Aes­the­tic sec­tion has been intro­du­ced, dedi­ca­ted to hybrid forms and nar­ra­ti­ves. The VR pro­gram expands the con­cept of film in a sepa­ra­te exhi­bi­ti­on. And with the Spot­light, the work of an artist is given a space that allows for more in-depth explo­ra­ti­on. Guest pro­grams and col­la­bo­ra­ti­ons addi­tio­nal­ly broa­den the hori­zon and allow for new perspectives.
