About Us
Kurzfilmfreunde Köln e.V. can look back on twenty years of experience in organizing short film events. At the heart of its activities is the KFFK/Short Film Festival Cologne , which takes place annually in November. The KFFK combines classic short film formats and innovative formats.
The KFFK/Short Film Festival Cologne presents more than 100 short films over six days. National and international works are showcased in competitions and thematic programs. At the festival headquarters in the Filmhaus and in many other cinemas across Cologne, KFFK offers—alongside the film programs—a range of offerings including VR works, programs for children, an accessible program, workshops, and many opportunities for encounters between filmmakers and audiences.
Through events such as Shorts on Wheels, a combination of bicycle tour and public short film screenings, as well as many free events and low-barrier programs, the KFFK works to create low-threshold, easily accessible offerings.
